Florida’s vote-by-mail rules have changed—and many Taylor County Democrats are no longer signed up to get a mail ballot in 2026. These are some of our most reliable voters—and unless we reach them, many could be left behind. Your quick, helpful conversations will make a real difference.
You can make calls whenever it works for you–anytime between 9am-8pm on Mon-Sat, and 11am-7pm on Sun!
Sign up to be sent all the details and begin making your calls. Training and support provided.
Taylor County Democrats are calling every Democrat in the county who still has a mail ballot sitting on the kitchen counter. The ballot has to be RECEIVED at the elections office by 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18th. A postmark does not count. Every one of these calls is a vote that might otherwise not get counted.
WHAT YOU'LL DO: Call Taylor County Democrats whose ballot hasn't come back yet. Remind them to sign the back of the envelope and get it to the elections office before the deadline. Most calls take about a minute.
WHEN: Two shifts every day, now through Election Day, Tuesday August 18th. A morning shift from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM and an afternoon shift from 1:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Sign up for whichever shifts work for you. You do not have to stay the whole block. Fifteen minutes is a real help.
WHERE: From your own couch, on your own phone. It is all online.
NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED: You get a script with every word written out, including what to say when someone asks a question you don't know the answer to. First timers do this all the time.
WHAT YOU NEED: A phone, a laptop or tablet, and a quiet spot. Sign up below and we'll send you the calling link and a short one page briefing before your first shift.
One rule, and it matters: we never handle anyone else's ballot. No picking it up, no dropping it off, no mailing it for them. Florida law is strict about this and the script tells you exactly what to say if someone asks.
Protect the Vote in Taylor County
Be our eyes and ears on Election Day. We're recruiting neighbors to volunteer for voter protection shifts during the August 18, 2026 Primary Election. No experience needed - we'll provide the training.
Shifts are available all throughout the day, from 7 AM to 7 PM. Even a one- or two-hour shift helps tremendously, so sign up for whatever fits your schedule.
Here are the three ways you can help:
Poll WatchersThe Party's eyes and ears on the ground. Poll watchers help us quickly resolve issues with voting or polling places as they arise. You will report incidents so our teams can work with county election officials on finding solutions.
Ballot CurersEvery vote-by-mail ballot is reviewed by our county elections office before it is counted. If a voter forgot to sign the envelope, or their signature did not match, they have until 5 PM on the Thursday after the election to correct, or "cure," any mistakes. Ballot cure volunteers help contact these affected voters and provide them with the resources needed to get their legally cast ballots counted.
Canvassing Board ObserversEach county has a canvassing board responsible for certifying the election results and overseeing the vote tabulation process. Canvassing board observers attend these meetings to ensure legal compliance and that the election proceeds without issue. On occasion, observers will advocate to the board on certain decisions relating to the election.
