Come see the Taylor County Democrats at Second Friday in downtown Perry on Friday, October 9th, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. This month is a little different. Starting in October, the street will be closed to traffic and vendors are moving off the sidewalk and into the road, so there is more room to walk around and visit. Second Fridays usually bring a car cruise-in, food trucks, vendors, music, and downtown shops, restaurants, and coffee shops staying open late. We will have a table with information about the November 3rd election, including how to request a mail ballot and when and where to vote early, plus ways you can get involved. Stop by, say hello, and ask us anything.

Our neighbors at the Jefferson County Democratic Executive Committee are hosting an old-fashioned political rally at the Monticello Opera House on Monday, October 12th, at 6:30 PM. It is free and open to the public, and Taylor County is invited. Monticello is about an hour up US 19 from Perry. The Florida Forest Festival is the biggest day of the year in Perry, and the Taylor County Democrats will be there. Find our table at Forest Capital Park on Saturday, October 24th, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Admission is free. The festival is known for the King Tree Parade downtown in the morning, the World's Largest Free Fish Fry, lumberjack shows, arts and crafts, a classic car show, and live music at the park. For this year's full schedule, see floridaforestfestival.org. October 24th is also the first day of early voting. You can vote from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Supervisor of Elections office, 433 N. US Highway 19, Perry, every day through Saturday, October 31st. Vote first, then come get some fish. Stop by our table for information about the November 3rd election and ways you can get involved.
