Protect the Vote in Taylor County

Be our eyes and ears on Election Day. We're recruiting neighbors to volunteer for voter protection shifts during the August 18, 2026 Primary Election. No experience needed - we'll provide the training.

Shifts are available all throughout the day, from 7 AM to 7 PM. Even a one- or two-hour shift helps tremendously, so sign up for whatever fits your schedule.

Here are the three ways you can help:

Poll Watchers
The Party's eyes and ears on the ground. Poll watchers help us quickly resolve issues with voting or polling places as they arise. You will report incidents so our teams can work with county election officials on finding solutions.

Ballot Curers
Every vote-by-mail ballot is reviewed by our county elections office before it is counted. If a voter forgot to sign the envelope, or their signature did not match, they have until 5 PM on the Thursday after the election to correct, or "cure," any mistakes. Ballot cure volunteers help contact these affected voters and provide them with the resources needed to get their legally cast ballots counted.

Canvassing Board Observers
Each county has a canvassing board responsible for certifying the election results and overseeing the vote tabulation process. Canvassing board observers attend these meetings to ensure legal compliance and that the election proceeds without issue. On occasion, observers will advocate to the board on certain decisions relating to the election.
